@jimmyxx3 i did not say they used them there are pictures of german captured HE-111s
-
Yes, and the B-17 was captured by Germans and put German markings on it too.
But tell me of any British He-111's used in the battle of britain?
-
@mrceebees14 Both sides did this all the time in North Africa. The RAF had almost everything from He-111s, Bf109s and even a couple FW190s (the British were so determined to get a 190, they devised a cunning plan to steal one from a French airfield - the mission was scratched after a German pilot got confused and mistook Kent for Normandy!)
-
@mrceebees14 Just the one at first. Confused pilot landed one in france at an airfield that had been captured by the allies, one with their new airborne radar and all.
-
@jimmyxx3 the british did actually capture He-111s and rebuilt them and put their emblems on them so it happened
-
I know the RAF had the JU52, but they stole HE111's as well?
-
