[[[Jon's note: this is our first documentary, it was a late project (confirmed barely a week before the trip to Mid-Ohio)... done with very little planning and a minimal amount of gear and a very specific set of needs/goals - all with not much time and virtually no budget. Yes it has a few mistakes, we know... but it is presented here anyway. We learned quite a lot and look forward to the next video project, which will be even bettter. Thanks for watching!]]]

Awesome video. Chris is a class act. I've met him at a couple of NASA HPDE events. I'm having fun with my 2011 GT at VIR and Summit. It's amazing to see what Chris can do with his Mustang and I enjoy learning from him.

@caeaves I don't think they ever figured it out. It happened toward the end of the championship race and the car hasn't done anything but drive on and off trailers since then...

I was supposed to be sleeping and here I am watching a race documentary. Great story. I really like the new 5.0, and after watching the same Motortrend video with Randy Pobst comparing the M3 to the Mustang, I was sold too.
Maybe he one thing that has held me back from buying one is the reported transmission and clutch issues. What changes were there made to the transmission to get it race ready?

@hxrly the trans came out during the 17 day timeframe and was replaced with a beefier unit from Rockland Standard Gear. Clutches were from Exedy, the second one (replaced in August, just before leaving for nationals, as mentioned in the vid) is in the car as it sits on the show floor at SEMA in Vegas right this minute ;-)
