I really do love your house. I am building a cob goat shed next year. Gonna break myself in slowly to the process. I cannot wait!

where are you getting water and where are you dumping poop?

How much did it cost to build it and, most importantly, how long did it take to build it???

How can you move in if it doesn't have a toilet yet? Will it be a "normal" toilet like the rest of us have or some kind of new invention? Please no stinky loo.
I like the antiques and arttistic pieces. You will be living with it a very long time so, good to have it your way... charming and dignified. Umm, too much to say about this, really... glad you are enjoying your space. Nice windows. Wow, am I jealous! Certainly beats living in a high rise?

Cost? Cost? Costy McCostCost? (juuuust kidding)
My dad had been fascinated with the Earthship concept since he was about my age, and I began reading his books about 4 or 5 years back and now want to build my own.
My close friend has become interested in Derrick Jensen and his philosophies about our current un-sustainable, violence-driven culture-- and has been researching cob as a building material. If I could find a way to combine cob with Earthship Biotecture... ahhhh, paradise.

Thanks for the video. I live in Canada, I read the moisture is a problem for cob houses(in Canada) which was causing rot in the straw and wood frame. My wife and I are deciding on a tiny house of 320Sq feet, yet with a foundation for a basement of about 640 Sq feet. The house will look tiny from the outside, yet will be perfect for guests, 1.5 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, cold storage and room for regular storage.

Wonderful work! A lot in common in the way you view this world.

Very interesting. Tell me, how much did it cost to build your home...Don't mean to be personal, but just trying to get some ideas. I live here in TN, and have wondered about building my own home one day. I know the materials will be different, But am curious if building a home is cheaper than buying. I would expect that it is. Thanks, if you can get back to me, I'd appreciate it. Thank you :)

What state are you in and aproximately how much did your house cost? Did you build it yourself? Thanks.
What happens when the fridge dies and needs to be replaced? Hope you find the same size!

@emerson24 Yeah, we already had to do that! Fortunately for us people are still building RV fridges.

@nuksucow1983 I can tell you're fired up and passionate, and I infer that you have an open heart and mind. Thanks for living with purpose and intention. I'll indulge in a bit of preaching in response, hopefully you'll find it useful or thought-provoking. I just urge you to practice compassion for your neighbors who aren't able to see things your way; and also critical thinking around your own beliefs. You're on the right track, but guard your beliefs jealously; examine them without prejudice.

love the concept, totally a young person's dream though. I love the idea of the economizing. How do u keep the bureacratic BS from enchroaching on you, having to get a piece of their pie? I despise that, America just isn't America anymore.

@debzeppeliniv We live in a place where, fortunately for us, America still is America. Maybe more America than America ever was. That is, we don't have to worry about building codes, and have only a few inspections (septic, plumbing, electric) to deal with. There are some fees, but generally I'm in favor of them, and even if occasionally thick-headed, most of the local bureaucrats I've dealt with have been doing their jobs conscientiously.
