The flying fish season along the eastern coast starts from April and last until June. On March 29 this year in Hualien, the Sakizaya people of Karuruan Community members held a traditional sea ritual. At the ritual they worshipped the sea deity, paid respects to their ancestors and prayed for safe fishing journeys and bountiful catch for their members.
