@777PLove Ding ding ding! we have a winner for the least subjective method of determining the difference between a creek and a river! though i'm pretty sure it's not the case, i do like your suggestion. there are many RIVERS that are way shorter than 100 miles. so maybe a lesser value, like 20 or 30 miles would be more appropriate. still, the chelan river flows all of about 3 miles before it hits the columbia river, which flows for something like 1200 miles! i wish we could figure this out

@eldril1009 - a creek river? thats even more confusing! but i think i know what you're getting at. i too often subconsciously think the same thing, if i need a creekboat, it's often on a steep, creeky type of run. but then i think of all the class 5 "rivers" that i use a creeker on, and also have friends who run the SHIT in playboats. so its still a very subjective way of assessing the difference between a creek and a river. just sayin... ; )

@Myhike3 i'm sure it has, and will continue to do so as long as people choose to inhabit the floodplain of this and other rivers. especially with development and resource extraction in its watershed, contributing to higher peak flows. of course i hope it doesn't, but believe it likely will.
