  • A most beautiful, chiming tone. Bell-like, sparkling highs. I am glad to own a 1969 model. Bought in 1975, by me. Excellent condition. Probably the best in the land. -vintage Woodstock.

  • nice playing - nice amp. I own one. Real good. I removed the tolex in mine and sounds better. Generally I avoid to cover my cabs. Check my facebook page Pure Tone if you like. there's a shot of it somewhere.

  • @enthnd03 I have owned two Twins, one Black face and a silver face-I found the Silver face tended to break up more with master on about 5 and channel volume on 6/7 but the Black one was clean at high volumes, needed a pedal to get a decent gritty sound, beautiful amps, versatile-depends what you want to play.

  • what wattage of speakers would you recommend for this amp.. I have a 45 watt and Im having to replace the speakers and I know theres a couple difference types used for these amps?

  • Can't go wrong with these amps....Mines been blasting for 10 years and still going strong. I'll never sell it, just upkeep it from time to time ....Heavy sucker to carry though ...but worth it. I have a bunch of vids up that show it's versatility ..

Check em out if your into hearing what you can get outtta this amp.

  • @MrV1C7OR I have a '68 Twin that was initially needed to be turned up very loud (past 6) in order to get the tone correct, but a little secret is to remove two of the four power tubes (the inside two) which cuts the wattage to 50, making it sound better at lower volumes... There has been a lot of chat about this on the internet, mostly praising the outcome. There naysayers state that it may overload some of the components, but I'm on my third year right now and she runs and sounds great.

  • I've got an old black Twin Reverb that sound deliciomundos! Somewhere down the road I need get a silver faced as well. Sounds great!

  • @JxEngel

oh okay thanks, my friend has one but for some reason it distorts at extremely low volumes....so i was guessing that he should probably change his tubes....does this amp do that distort easily?

  • @enthnd03 6L6 power tubes, 12AX7 pre and and I think they had a tube rectifier circuit also
