I would like to add afew more corrections about the 70 AMX. The 325 HP rating was without the forced Ram AIr system that was optional with GO-PAK. Gears were very high from the factory. You had the option to add 3,54,391, and 444`s right from the factory. If car craft had tested a 1970 AMX with the Hurst- 4 speed, optional Ram air with proper gears it would have no problem hitting the 13`s right off the showroom floor. And thats a fact!!!

@MrBerp Hell, probably a lot of mistuned hot rods were running a lot richer than that, 12 to 1 or worse being the norm.

@kolbpilot 14 to 1 is lean. thats for new cars its actualy 14.3 to 1 in the text book

BLAST FROM MY PAST: Owned a 1970 AMX in High School. Owned it for 4 years. This car inspired my love for racing. I had so much fun racing this car!!! I was a force to be Reckoned With!!!!!! LOLOLOLOL MY CAR WAS KICK ASS!!!! I MISS MY CAR!!!!!!

@jiggahippo Yes, I misspoke. With a carburettor, both fuel & air (14 to 1 ratio average) is being compressed at the same time. Once the 10 parts mix is squeezed to 1 ignition is introduced and then, explosion.
