Shooting slugs with my Kodiak double fifty. These are 460 grain great plains slugs with 110 grains ffg. Even so recoil is minimal, as you can see. Accuracy isn't great with this one but it's 1:48 not 1:24 like the new ones.

  • I've heard that before, and I tested it both rested and off my hand, with no change in point of impact. Keep in mind this is a Kodiak smoke pole, not a $10,000 nitro express. The tuning is not nearly as minute, and the pressures involved are MUCH lower.

  • How is the barrel regulation on those? I've never shot a double rifle before, but I'm a muzzleloader nut.

  • I would highly recommend that you NEVER shoot your DR while the barrels are resting on a pad - it messes up the harmonics of the barrels that are taken into consideration when the rifle is regulated.

Hold the rifle in your hand and rest your hand on the rest, but never the barrels themselves.
