The reason he got ninth is probably not because of his playing, but because a lot of his tricks were sloppy.

If you have ever been to I&E for DCI... you know it has to be beyond outstand. All of the players there are pretty much amazing. So it has to just be gushing with originality and technicality, as well as musicality to really just beat everyone outright. The judges there are generally very much experienced as well, so im not saying he is bad, but the guys who beat probably had very polished and innovative peices

One of the best rudimental drummers I've ever seen, but the tricks needed work. But, there's a reason the tricks are clled tricks and the rudiments rudiments. Because rudiments are the important thing.
