Thank you for your nice comment

  • I talked to Don on the phone last October and had a long talk with him. Over the years we talked about his days with Bill Monroe, Glenn Campbell, and some of the other shows he did in later years. There was always talk about the other bluegrass pickers he knew and who had passed away. Rest in peace Don.

  • @Pilotridge

This is a very nice information !

Were you a Blue Grass Boy ?

I know that Don died in an accident (Fire)

Thank you for the comment !

  • @Chubbyfan100, I never had the honor of picking for Bill, but while out playing here and there, got to know a few of the Bluegrass Boys, and always enjoyed listening to their stories about their days on the road with Bill. Don was a good friend and a great person, and I mentioned to him on numerous occasions, that he should write down some of the stories he told me, and though he agreed, don't guess he did..

  • @Pilotridge

Don`s banjo-playing pleases me very well.

One of the few left-handed !

Thank you so much for this very nice comment !

  • This recording is an absolute treasure! It`s the only one I`ve seen featuring the late Don Lineberger, one fine banjo player. On this recording he threw in just enough "melodic" stuff to make it interesting but still tasteful.

In addition to playing left handed, it`s good to see one of the old "guitar peghead" style Mastertones which have become quite rare now that Gibson is cranking out Granada re-issues. It seems everybody has to have a banjo just like Earl`s or Don`s or Ralph`s or Sonny`s..

  • @mandodude148 They did. That is also Peter Rowan playing guitar.

  • @roybuck1973 Earl Scruggs played this song for Bill Monroe and when he went with Lester Flatt, he substituted a minor chord and made Foggy Mountain Breakdown.
