Jonathan Dimbleby and a panel of experts come together to debate the controversial subject of religion in Britain's schools.

The role of religion in education is a subject rarely out of the headlines. Despite Britain's multi-faith society, schools are still required to include a collective act of worship of a Christian nature, while faith schools and religious academies have raised fears
about community cohesion and covert selection.

Claims by some religious educationalists that faith is the best way to teach moral values is challenged by others in schools who believe religious morality to be outdated and dangerous.

Dimbleby is joined by Professor Richard Dawkins, Schools Select Committee chairman Barry Sheerman MP, and a multi-faith studio audience.

The 16-year old Muslim girl says she wants to wear the head scarf. But she doesn't say why. That would have been an interesting answer.

I hate that the person that directs the discussion always changes the subject when is "hot" and interesting, just to avoid conflict. I heard all 6 parts and only Dawkins is trying to make some points. The Islamic guy avoids questions, and the others are playing with words to kill the TV time. You are born Muslim, because of your parents (like all religions) and if you want to leave the religion you must die.. I can't believe that this faith survived until now..

@waksibra The point was that certain religions inhabit certain geographical areas, which most people label as "white" "black" or "whatever". I know a christian certainly doesnt need to be white, nor does a muslim to be middleeastern.

Christians are white, Jews are... well jews... you know, that special look, muslims are middleeastern, hindus are well... redish looking? Im starting to see a pattern... maybe religion is not about truth, but of cultural pressure...
