There should be checks and balances in government. With the way Republicans have been behaving, Democrats will soon be allowed to do as they please. It's time for ACTUAL conservatives to take their party back from the Glen Beck's and Rush Limbaugh's of the world.

I don't think the "height" thing is evolving. Improvements in health care, nutrition and (to a lesser extent) selective breeding play a part.

If we're attacked by aliens and, for whatever bizarre reason, they cull all men under 6'5" and all women under 6', that's going to push the average height up but that's not evolution.  Maybe Darwinism, but not evolution.

I do not think it is Creationism that is part of the "controversy" it is Intelligent Design which argues that the origin and complexity of species is best explained by an intelligent designer. Young Earthers usually say 15 thousand years not 5-6 thousand.
