  • OMG!!! Thank you shum65! I heard this one time at the Virgin Megastore in Sacramento and the guy who had it, well it was his prize and joy...I haven't heard this in...shit since 1997. Thank you so much for uploading it

  • @TheOddgothgirl Hi there your very welcome my friend,

Love this live version, always gives goosebumps, it is rare

as its only ever been this live recording that Im aware of,

Glad you enjoyed it to, Liz sings on form to this dark and disturbing track. Thanks TheOddgothgirl :))

  • @shum65 I looked up the BBC Sessions cd on Amazon and wow it's pricey...BUT I was able to hear a sampling of the tracks and the greed monger in me went way googley and I had to have it...so I put it on my wish list! nummie.

  • @TheOddgothgirl Hi there, dont blame you, its well worth buying,

its filled with all their live sessions, Ive used many for my videos,

you'll love it, hope you get it real soon dear friend :-))

  • The incredibly sad theme of this song is expressed so deeply through Elizabeth's voice that if you close your eyes u suddenly find yourself under that trees and feel all the horror...The magnificent power of music...;)

  • @kakolukiam1984 So agree, its an immensely disturbing subject matter, conveyed

brilliant here in this live version by Liz and the band, lets hope humanity has learned

a valuable lesson, somehow I doubt it.. great to hear from you my friend....!!!

  • @noiseadicted Hi their, good point, this is a darker version,

just love Lizs live vocals here, and that stark musical accompaniment.

The song of course tells about violence, murder, and the oppression of

the black community, good to hear from you my friend.....!!!

  • pretty much darker version from the original by billie holiday, it's kind of a suicide song like gloomy sunday

  • @ALoveEternal Hi their, I,ve only ever heard this version myself,

it is an amazing live version, not sure if theirs any other studio-

recording of it though, but their may well be another live version

hanging around somewhere, its quite a rare track by them...

Thanks ALoveEternal, good to hear from you my friend....

  • huh... is this the only recorded version of them playing it? Sounds too well 'put together' to be a live recording, but it is from their BBC recordings.
