Fighting for Youth Mental Health. Wayne Schwass tells us about Orgen Youth Health and the work they're doing.
17th of May 2011
As you know the Fight for Youth Mental Health is all in support of Orygen Youth Health (OYH).
Back in May I caught up with AFL star Wayne Schwass who happily came out to give a run down of the facility, his involvement with Orygen and the work they are doing out there. This is a fantastic organisation and the Orygen team are always very motivated and passionate about the work they are doing.
Mental illness is generally not seen as serious an issue as physical illnesses or disabilities but is equally as wide spread. Unfortunately there are many young people in our society who suffer with mental illness and we would never know because it isn't something that is typically discussed openly. OYH work to not only help young understand and overcome mental illnesses but also to put the topic of Mental Illness on the social agenda so that it will become common practice to help those suffering.
It is always great to pay the Orygen team a visit and when I see how passionate they are about the work they are doing it inspires me to train a little harder for the kumite so we can reach our $30,000 goal.
Please support Orygen and the work they are doing:
FIGHT FOR YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH
I've been training hard and come September I'll be fighting hard so dig deep and show your support!
