You will see the white rust on the galvanized portion of the tower support structure and then contrast that to the stainless steel basin

  • Wrong chemical balance in the tower, maybe? The leak is still the cause though. Watch out for Leigonaires disease!

  • Actually it was from the lack of alkalinity (low pH) over time plus there was no hardness <50ppm. The algae on the side is from more sunlight than biocide present. Thanks for you input.

  • yeah chemicals aint been kept up or something. i mean thats outside the trade anyways. all that ph and algae and chemical... they got folks with suitcase things with test tubes in it for that upkeep. that looks like a marley unit?? like the one i replaced with a BAC.
