  • @YoungJim409 It just depends on the cutting inserts you use... I had a situation, where i had a Feedrate of 750mm/min 1mm cutting depth and 95% of Tool Diameter. and also got a mirror finish.

It mainly depeds on a good cutting insert, i Thing. So to say, with an optimised geometry for aluminum.

  • A mirror finish on rouging passes? What a world.

  • @jh4dc5s Deckel and Micron do machines with a similar setup I think, that'll move quickly enough for lathe work on larger parts, with the axis on a bridge like rotary.

  • Kitamira tried to copy this to make a 5 axis, but the trunnion doesn't have rpm, it only indexes. Mazak Wins.

  • mazak never replies to my comments

  • We are getting a variaxis at work. I am new to 5 axis work, but have spent plenty of time with Mazak horizontals and full 4th axis. Any tips on some good 5 axis referencing websites, forums, or literature??
