Endeavour began a four-mile trek from the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Pad 39B at 11:15 p.m. on Sept. 18. It reached its destination by 7 a.m. on Sept. 19.
The rollout came only a couple weeks after space shuttle Atlantis was bolted to Launch Pad 39A for a targeted October liftoff to service NASAs Hubble Space Telescope.
This is the first time since July 2001 that two shuttles have been on both launch pads at the same time.
NASA needs Endeavour ready to launch in the unlikely event its needed for a rescue mission during Atlantis STS-125 flight.
After Atlantis lands, Endeavour will roll around to pad A for its STS-126 mission.
