Bloat or gastric torsion is a common condition affecting large breed dogs. The symptoms are usually very characteristic and diagnosis is usually easy. However, other conditions may mimic a gastric torsion and this podcast illustrates that fact.
Top Job. our Emu ate a Spark plug, a Screw Driver and a few other bits and pieces so those peeps that own an Emu, watch out they will eat anything.
Question for Vetstoria, our dog is suffering from fluid retention in his belly because of a heart murmur. He looks like a balloon and is on diuretics and heart pills. I love this dog and he needs to be tapped every 3 days at least at a cost of $80. I have all the gear to do it as its a simple operation. Is there anything I should watch out for?
Similar to my Irish Wolfhound who ate some rocks. Thank you for showing how this type of thing can occur and what we owners need to be on the look-out for.
Thanks for the informative podcast!
