I'd rather listen to the manager of the local Tesco or those charismatic job centre employees than listen to Bill Hicks. This won't look very good on my CV doing this so I'm going now! I'm humble and religious and I wear a suit and go to a job that doesn't inspire me creatively and I will end up grey as a badger soon and die from all the crap I subscribe to.

@jef108 John Cleese (along with Michael Palin agreeing) repeatedly commented he was a fan of Hicks & a comedy hero to him, and said he was the only comic to have really thrilled him in the last decades. If that ain't endorsement, I don't know what is.
