Sam Ogden, contributing writer for the wildly popular skeptical blog, Skepchick, sits down with Dr. Eugenie Scott of the National Center for Science Education for a conversation about the NCSE, the evolution of the creationist movement, women in science and skepticism, and more. Part 3 covers the ever-changing tactics of those who attempt to worm creationism into public school science classes.

  • Eugenie Scott rocks!

  • I was going to make a comment about the pettyness of the intro haters but it would show my pettyness regarding other peoples comments so i wont bother. This is a great interview. Thank god (not literally) for people like Eugenie Scott who fight for proper science education.

  • Novel about an alternative view of evolution see video book trailer

  • Eugenie was using ideology in the academic sense. The Oxford dictionary says "the philosophy or psychology of the nature and origin of ideas". So she was correct in saying that a discussion of atheism doesn't translate into principles for the scientific method.

  • I'm currently trying to find out if we can reduce the intros to just reflect the segment number. We didn't anticipate the imapct of the full intro when viewing the segments in quick succession. Can't make any promises, but I'll try to upload updated copies as soon as I can.

Oh, and thanks for your feedback. We appreciate it.

  • intro intro intro... Damn!!!

  • Oh, come on Rebecca... I don't want to have to skip through an intro ever time I watch the next part.... seriously.

Other than that, this interview is awesome so far :-)

  • A »theometer« (2:20) — love the idea!

Maybe, if we take a witch and throw her into the pond; if she floats, then, yeah, I'm onto something! Must go look if it's already patented

  • She just said in the last video that the atheists who say science is based on naturalism are wrong. O_o

We can test some claims based on god. It's the theists who try to move the goal posts after their hypotheses are disproven.
