My favorite song came up in the radio, and I couldn't help but sing along. I looked at Carlos and he was mouthing the words with the song. I didn't think he knew this band he is apparently a jock now. I sang a little louder, just to mock him, and he laughed. I kept singing and he followed along with me, except now I could hear him. He was never a good singer, I have her him sing before to me.
Then a sharp pain hit my chest. I pressed on the brake hard. "ZOE!" I heard him scream.
"I'm okay" my voice trailed off. I felt him untying my seat belt.
"Zoe, are you okay" I felt myself in his arms now; I didn't want to move I was pretty comfy. "Z, please answer me" He sounded a little worried.
I mumbled "I'm okay" he let out a gasp. I opened my eyes to see my football player, the thought made me smile. The way he would always call me his before, my chest started hurting again. I lifted my head a little and tried making my way back to the driver's seat, two pair of strong arms held me back.
"Friends don't let other drunk friends drive" He smirked at me, I giggled.
"Well from what I remember I hate beer and I have never gotten drunk so I don't know what you're talking about." I said proudly, and smiled. "Plus, I'm probably more sober than you have ever been" he laughed, but then turned serious. Yup, he was lying.
"Well, still" he looked at me thru his eyelashes.
"Are we almost to your house," I asked. He looked up and searched.
"Yeah a few blocks away" I frowned at that. I lifted myself up, I felt a little dizzy. He just looked at me as I did. I sat on the driver's seat. Then I started accelerating thru the poorly lit street. He said to stop. I looked at him, was it the last time I was going to see him? Then everything went dark again.
I was laying down in something, or someone. I opened my tired eyes, and looked up to see I was still in my car, but in Carlos's lap. I looked up to see his face he was asleep. How long was I gone? I tried lifting myself up, and I plopped down hard on his lap. He opened his eyes, crazily and said. "You didn't have t wake me up like that" and smiled.
"I was trying to get up." I still felt a little dizzy. I needed to go home; I was still not sure where my little brother was. I got my phone and texted the familiar number 'where are you?' "Where am I anyway?" I asked the guy that I was sitting on with sleepy eyes.
"We are parked in my house, but there's nobody home and I don't have the keys so we stayed outside, and then I fell asleep." He laughed. Then, I felt a vibration in my hand, the familiar name popped up in my blackberry. I opened the message 'I'm staying at my friend's house, and mom is going to buy me a ticket to go see her at Houston.' I typed quickly in return asking him when he was leaving. "Nice phone, so you still like purple?" So he remembered I looked down the message was sent. I nodded numbly, I got up again and I noticed we were in the driver's seat.
"You drove the car?" He nodded, but how did I end up in his lap again? I remember he pulled me on him when we were seating in the passenger seat, but if he drove. How did I end up in his lap again? I felt dizzy, still, and now confused. "I want to go home" I waited some more seconds. "You said nobody was here and it's getting cold outside, I'm not going to leave you here. You want to come to my house?" He looked at me; we stared at each other for a while. He just simply nodded.
He started the car, he asked me were my house was. I gave him the directions I could before failing to keep my eyes open. I woke up in the driveway of my house; I took out the phone from my pocket and checked to time, it was 1 in the morning. I'm guessing we had barely got here,
I saw him outside trying to find the key to open the door with, and I laughed. I got out, and carefully walked my way over to him. I took out the keys from his hands; he looked a little surprised that I had woken up. I opened the door and half ran to go turn off the alarm. I clicked the right buttons, and went back to see where he was standing.
