How To Uninstall MSN MESSENGER

PLEASE READ....... * Click your start button / Settings / Control Panel * Click add or remove programs, then choose the option for add / remove windows components on the left side and check MSN Messenger to remove. Note, you may see two services that look similar. One is Windows Messenger and the other MSN. Windows messenger can also be removed if you are getting a lot of unwanted popup boxes with the words "Messenger Service" at the top.

If for any reason you cannot find MSN Messenger in the add or remove area of control panel, try the second method below for removal. * Click your start button / Run / type in the following line:

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove * Press OK and restart your computer.

NB!!! A reason people don't find it, may because the newest are named "Windows live essentials" And does not have the msn icon ;)

I put that command line into the RUN bar, my computer instantly restarted itself, then when it booted back into windows it started booting as normal then froze and gave me a BSOD: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL .. not saying you are directly responsible but this happened to me because I did what you said. Luckily I could go into safe mode and do a system restore......
