@StickyickyX Maybe, but I had previous fighting experience, and I doubt that there's anyone who hasn't. I don't say I'm unbeatable with my talents in this Art but I belive I could quickly get the upper hand in a combat situation. At least in my country. People here are talk, rarely you see someone who can back his/her words. For example in America, it would be harder, cuz almost everyone has a gun there so it's hard to take adventage of your fighting skills. Here only police and few people have.
@StickyickyX Oh and Sticky, do try to make different opinion of ITF and WTF (World Taekwondo Federation, not What The Fuck?) Taekwondo. Cuz at ITF I've been told that they don't teach self-defense techniques but in WTF you learn a bunch of counters and grapples which can brake an arm, leg or neck in the beggining of the fight. I learn WTF and I saw ITF fighter before it's not as good as WTF I belive.
@MOHWORDLIFE To MOHWORLDLIFE: Then why are you watching it? I think Tekken is awsome cuz almost every character represents a real-life martial arts like Karate, Muay Thai, Kickbox, Taekwondo etc. Street Fighter is too fictional with all those people with superpowers (sure there are fictional things in Tekken too but not as much). And Mortal Kombat is good, I won't deny that, but there is too much needless gore. If I play a fighting game I don't go for "How can I kill him the most gorey?"
@StickyickyX Well the master who teaches me is also an MMA teacher so maybe that would explain it. Altough I only go to his Taekwondo trainings cuz MMA doesn't intrest me a lot. Well, all in all Taekwondo could be effective if done right, And I belive it's good enough for self-defense too.
@metryman24 It's been tried, ask any MMA fighter, practitioner or fan. TKD is better than nothing, but anyone with street fighting experience is better at self defense, as he would actually know what is practical and what is not.
