HQ
Whatll you do when you get lonely
No one waiting by your side?
Youve been running and hiding much too long.
You know its just your foolish pride.

Layla, youve got me on my knees.
Layla, Im begging, darling please.
Layla, darling wont you ease my worried mind.

I tried to give you consolation
When your old man had let you down.
Like a fool, I fell in love with you,
Turned my whole world upside down.

Chorus

Lets make the best of the situation
Before I finally go insane.
Please dont say well never find a way
And tell me all my loves in vain.

Chorus

  • I love the difference in this version, where he dosen't plat the "high" part after each Layla. if you know what I mean

  • @narnode good catch.

That is the very reason why I upload this one here. I like it better.

  • My GOD! That 1986 intro must be one of the most beautiful pieces of improvised guitar playing I know. Got me a red guitar NOW WHERE CAN I FIND ME A MIAMI VICE SUIT!!!

  • Thumbs up if you remember this one from the Cream of Eric Clapton VHS.

  • In my opinion, this is the best Layla solo ever. Might be Clapton's best tone ever too.

  • That's my definition of a dream team! People from completely different musical and cultural backgrounds, learning with each other, working with each other, respecting each other, complementing each other - to perfection! That's a perfect example how the world should be!

  • COOOOLL!!!

  • Just to add...Phil Collins is unbelieveable on this and drives Clapton to his genius state...

  • Roger taylor of Queen and Phil collins have the same different drum fills i love both of them hahahaha phil collins and roger taylor rocks

  • I agree...the best live Layla by far...I'm a Clapton fanatic (Derek and the Dominoes Live - his best live recorded performances career-wise - get the old vinyl version, it has a great version of WDMLGTBSS, much better than the CD - the rest is the same on both and amazing) and this version of Layla is Clapton phrasing and beautiful touch at its best - he's one of a kind...
