Fifty families in Eagle River say their landlord is trying to illegally evict them. It's part of a CBS 11 News I-Team investigation.
Many of these people have lived at their residence for 20 years or more.
Suddenly their lives may be uprooted. The scary part for them is, they don't know what's coming next.
@micksauntie Just another example of the rich taking advantage of the poor. they don't care about these people; if they did; they would just leave them alone and find some other land to develop. There are plenty of vacant lots out there and lots that have vacant buildings on them; they don't need to do this to these pepole; but they don't care.

@inkey2 Unfortunately there aren't very many people who care about the poor; alot of people with mpney wish people who didn't woud just curl up and die; that they are just a drain on society; which THEY ARE NOT. Just because someone isn't earning a million dollars a year does not mean they are not worth anything.

if I ever had the brains or the motivation to go to law school this is the type of thing I would like to do. Fight for the poor and regular folks. Fuk the big law firm money....I would love to be able to "stick-it" to assholes who come down on the poor folks

This is happening to a relative, who lives in a mobile home park in B.C. While the attempt to evict him and the other nearly 200 residents may be 'legal,' it's morally reprehensible. Most of the residents are seniors (all over 55) and have lived in the park for twenty years or longer - their trailers are the only property they own. Not all of the trailers can be moved, due to age or condition. Imagine being 81 years old and being evicted, just so a developer can erect another ugly tower.
