From album 『日本民謡大百科』(1978)

Terauchi released 日本民謡大百科 (ENCYCLOPEDIA of JAPANESE TRAD FOLK SONG) in 1978.
This album consists of all 100 tracks, and it is new arrangement and new recording entirely.
It was released with ten LP sets. (5 CD, today)

Since 1965, Terauchi wrestled with the electric guitar arrangement of the Japanese trad song.

The trial to the Japanese trad song of Terauchi was compiled into one book by this ENCYCLOPEDIA album.
His guitar playing style and sound was completed at this point in time, too.

ASADOYA YUNTA is Okinawas trad. Okinawa is an island of the Japanese southernmost edge.

ASADOYA is an actual woman called KUYAMA ASADOYA (1722-1799).
An Okinawas beautie KUYAMA, she was required a low-class government official to become a lover, but she declines this. AZATOYA-YUNTA is the song which described the situation with humor.
YUNTA is work song of the farming.

  • 沖縄音楽ファンになる何年も前に、寺内タケシのヴァージョンでこの曲を知りました。その強烈なアレンジとディストーションの音に、ものすごくヘヴィな曲だと思ったのです。
