Free Wind Home Inspections Help Residents Hunker Down

Protecting your home before a hurricane hits is the goal of free inspections now being offered by the state.




Finding out the strengths and weaknesses of homes ahead of time can help minimize damage, officials said.

"You're going to want to buy a shutter to cover this entire opening because there's no support here," home inspector Randy McKinney said.

The state's providing free wind inspections to homeowners because an expert can help prevent a lot of damage.
