Wilson Creek kayaking from put-in to take-out.
Wilson Creek Gorge is located in Pisgah National Forest in Caldwell County, NC. It is about 19 miles northeast of Morgonton NC, and 16 miles northwest of Lenoir NC. The first video goes from the put-in to above the rock jumble before Ten Foot Falls.

  • Thanks for your comments. I would be pleased if someone would take the time and effort to make a high quality video of the entire gorge. Because this is in the Pisgah Natioal Forest one either needs a permit, or to do it for free. It is wise to check with the National Forest Service before filming or publishing anything within their boundaries.

  • If you want excitement come back and run Wilson Creek Gorge when theres some water in it!

  • How true. The highest Ive run the gorge is 4 over zero on the Adako Bridge gage. Its pushy at that level and it helps to know your lines. I once went over Ten Foot Falls upside down and landed on my head. Ive been caught in the keeper below trail 269, broke an unbreakable paddle in Boatbuster Falls, and been trashed out going down at Triple Drop upside down. Very exciting.

  • I appreciate your comments. The point here is to have a visual reference to most parts of the Wilson Creek Gorge. Nothing really compares to the excitement of actually being in the kayak.

  • This is one of the best videos about Wilson' Creek for intermediate paddlers. It shows good lines and offers some very good advice. Both my wife and I used it for reference before going and made the run without incident and we really appreciate the time that you took to post it. Individuals who want to sit back and criticise you on your efforts to post, in regards to sound levels, quality or lack of action need to find something better in their life to do.....like tiddlywinks for example.

  • I can empathize with peaches, but will beg to differ. It's not flashy, nor is it your typical hair boating video, but I appreciate the opportunity to take in the bigger picture once in awhile.

  • good video but like listening to NPR...

  • One of the most boring kayaking videos ive ever seen.. do some editing and just show the action
