Lebanon is a land of the Bible, where Jesus Christ lived and preached. A country that through the centuries has fulfilled its mission of statehood: where people of many faiths were assured a peaceful and tolerant coexistence. A civil war that lasted 16 years and ended in 1991 left this harmony and Lebanon in tatters. The war brought death to a 150 thousand people and losses estimated at over 150 billion US. The once equal scales of balance tip-ped and Christians left in the hundreds of thousands. Of the original 1,100,000 Christians, only 300,000 have returned. Today, 800,000 Lebane-se Christians live abroad. Christians have become a minority in a Muslim society - a minority concerned that an encroaching Islamisation of the state is making co-operation between Christians and Muslims at the executive level difficult. This short documentary addresses this question of Christian flight and the implications for Lebanon's statehood as well as those efforts towards reconciliation between the religious communities.
Christians still make about 50%. How are they minority? If they are so are the Muslims.
