  • Happy new year :)

  • Notice the statue wasn't in the NES version

  • I had this game for the 64! Wish i still had it!

  • @Mau1wurf1977 I like the NES one. It has BGM and chirping, I didn't notice slowdown and there was no loading.

  • The C64 version is the only one that has this chirping sound in front of the house.

Apart from the PC version, all other version slow down a little when the screen scrolls. The PC version also has the fastest loading times. In terms of sound the PC version is the weakest though. At best you can play it in Tandy mode with 3 voices.

I think the Amiga version has the best compromise, but personally I prefer the C64 and the PC versions.

  • October 1987 Maniac Mansion was released for Commodore 64 and Apple 2, Spring 1988 version 1 was released for PC DOS, 1989 version 2 enhanced was released for PC DOS, 1990 it was ported to 8 bit Nintendo *This version is censored* 1993 Maniac Mansion 2 Day of The Tentacle was released for PC DOS, 2004 Maniac Mansion Deluxe a fan remake. 2011 Meteor Mess 3D, not quite done yet....I believe this to be accurate

  • @magicbutterfly0 Well said. Thats why Im usually online playing emulators instead of playing the same "cut and dry" first person shooters.

  • This game was the first to use the"cut-scene",a sequence in a video game over which the player has little or no control, often breaking up the gameplay and used to advance the plot, present character development, and provide background information, atmosphere, dialogue and clues , something that is used in most games today.

  • one of my all time favorites !

  • I only remember this game on the nes in 1990 and I loved it. But I had no idea that it first came out on the C64 in 1987. I had a C64 back then too. If I had known about it then I would have tried to get it.
