The LED lighting is mostly complete as of Dec 30, 2007. Whether or not it has stopped algae formation or not is a matter of who you ask; the problem may be more complex than that.
They seem to have taken down those signs that label the rooms.

We were there Monday 11/3 and they turned the lights out for us, too. The new L.E.D. lighting is pretty much completed. Ranger Tracey said that the algae will probably be dying out in the next few months and years. It all comes in on human clothing during tours and is promoted to grow by the old style incandescent lighting.
