Made by Charles Looff in the year 1901. Looff"s No. 9, 20-Section, 4-Row Carrousel (actual old spelling of carousel) is housed on the Narrangansett Bay. The brass-ringed Coney Island Carrousel was carved by Looff to fit a Mangels mechanism. The carousel is a very popular carousel and the world's 7th largest. The only carousels that are larger are Brookfield Zoo (21-4) Six Flags Over Georgia (22-5) DisneyWorld (26-5) Audubon Zoo (28-5) House on the Rock (48-6)
the carousel dates to 1895 - it's looff's masterpiece - the band organ is a ruth 38 but it plays wurlitzer 165 rolls - it's the only surviving ride of the defunct crescent park in riverside ri - it's now fully restored but the organ needs work

My favorite carousel!! Beautiful horses, great fast ride! I think the ride was slowed down over the past years. I noticed the last time I went for a ride is was not as fast but still very fun!
