Relief Society Choir from the Alpine and Highland Stakes in Utah sing "Rejoice, the Lord Is King!" during the General Relief Society session of the 178th Semiannual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held at the Conference Center in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah in October 2008.

"Rejoice, the Lord Is King!" Hymn #66

1. Rejoice, the Lord is King!
Your Lord and King adore!
Mortals, give thanks and sing
And triumph evermore.

[Chorus]
Lift up your heart! Lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!
Lift up your heart! Lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

2. The Lord, the Savior, reigns,
The God of truth and love.
When he had purged our stains,
He took his seat above.

3. His kingdom cannot fail;
He rules oer earth and heavn.
The keys of death and hell
To Christ the Lord are givn.

Text: Charles Wesley, 1707-1788

Music: Horatio Parker, 1863-1919

Relevant Scriptures: Philippians 4:4, Psalm 32:11

  • Very very cool, from a brother in California. If anyone knows Steve and Tricia King tell them Hello from vintageyello71

  • Thank you for posting this version. It's quite inspiring. I much prefer this musical adaptation of Wesley's lyrics than his lyrics paired with other music.

  • @longeaton34 i beleive in the lord jesus christ and i know he is our saviour and that we are all his children and that the bible and book of mormon are true and that the church of jesus christ of latter day saints is true and have you ever read the book of moromon? i ask you to because if you go looking for answers wholeheartedly and with pure intent you will know the truth.

  • I started laughing at 0:01

I'm sorry, but Mormons are HILARIOUS happy.

I guess this comment is fitting considering the song. lol

  • What a sad and disturbing posting this is. All these women singing a fabulous hymn blissfully unaware that their so-called church teaches nothing more than a monstrous falsehood. Charles Wesley's Hymn is a doxology on the spiritual Kingship of our Lord Jesus Christ. That makes Him God. Get it? That means there is a Holy Trinity. That means the Gospel doesn't work without it. That means the Bible's clear teaching on Christian redemption is Sufficient and complete. You don't need book of mormon.

  • @starfruitdust well not to say the Lds church cant do it... but its not wise to put songs such as this or How firm a foundation into a hymn book when it clearly teaches biblical sufficiency.

  • AMAZINGGGGGGGGG

  • @sinaejoy A restoration was needed because the Church that Jesus founded with Apostles and Prophets, and with the full power and authority of His holy Priesthood was taken from the earth when after the original Apostles were killed. Doctrines were changed;philosophy and men's interpretations crept in. A lot of true doctrine remained though. People still believed in Christ and therefore were Christian. This nation was founded by true believers even though their was a need for a restoration.

  • @sinaejoy The Book of Mormon says that Christ will be born AT Jerusalem not In Jerusalem. AT Jerusalem means in the same land Jerusalem is in, or in it's environs. Bethlehem is only a few miles from Jerusalem. The Book of Mormon is very much correct in it's description.

  • @sinaejoy Christian means to believe in Christ. We believe in Christ, therefore we are Christian. The Lord knows we believe in Him, so it matters not what others think of us.

  • @sinaejoy As far as the God is a Spirit scripture- John 4:24- it should read "For unto such hath God promised his Spirit. And they who worship him, must worship in spirit and in truth." This is a mistranslation.
