  • Really lovely version.

Keep at it, memorize it so you can work on your stage presence too - not that it's bad, just so you can engage the camera/audience.

Compliments to you, lassie. Capoe'd at?

    Regards,

    JAS

  • @JoelAS60 Capoe'd at the 3rd fret! Thanks!

  • Your voice sounds so beautiful. It takes me back to the days when Joan Baez used to sing these songs. I love the vibrato in your voice.

There is a folk singer from the 60's named Bonnie Dobson who was from Canada. She wasn't known like Joan Baez but did have a lovely folk voice. She had several albums in the 60's & some in the 70's. Her early albums on Prestige are her best. There is this one song she used to sing called, "Peter Amberly."

Trad. ballad I think. On Youtube by Bonnie Dobson.

  • Wow, I just listened to that! It was beautiful. I love voices like hers. I'd learn the song, but I can't find the chords for it!

  • Did you get my message about trying cowboy junkies version of blue moon?

  • yeah. I'll have to take some time to get the song and learn it, so it may be a while!

  • You should do "Shule a run". Love your voice.

  • you are really good but I'd re-record it all over again without the mistake/stalling at the begining.

Well done and thanks for this post.

  • you are amazing, I wish I could do this!!!

  • Awesome!

  • you have a beautiful voice, well done, lovely :-)

  • The version that I heard originally and I finally tracked down, and thought you'd enjoy if you haven't heard it already: Doc Watson at Gerdes Folk City, recorded '62-'63. You can hear a bit on iTunes. Worth buying - great voice and amazing picking.
