Virgil Marti, a Philadelphia-based artist whose sculptures straddle the divide between art and design, creating "everyday" objects such as wallpaper, chandeliers, and beaded curtains that pair decadent aesthetics with mass culture and the 1970s suburban lifestyle of of his youth. Virgil as been involved with such prestigious institutions as the Whitney Museum of Art (2004 Biennial) and The Fabric Workshop and Museum, he is currently exhibiting some of his work in "Directions" with Pae White at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture garden in Washington D.C.
