Controlled by a Arduino Duemilanove board.
A brushless outrunner motor used as generator driven by a drill in the test setup. The battery is a standard 12V motorcycle battery.
The test shows the PWM percentage when the input voltage increases - the drill is accelerated. This setup simulates a wind tubine generator that charges a battery bank.
Listen to the rev of the drill when the charger goes in on-stage and tries to fix the maximum power point.
I think you will find it a lot less trouble to buy one with a warranty. But I suppose inventing your own is more fun...Good video.

Very nice! Is this an MPPT system for use with wind generators or solar?
