I was up late editing video footage a couple of nights ago and happened to look out of the window, noticing this simple but beautiful spectacle. It had been a very stormy evening, with dense fog and rainfall obscuring the sky for many hours. At this moment, however, a full moon was just beginning to pierce through the thick cloud layer. Being in the mood for motion pictures, I decided to create a quick clip using my 300mm lens. This video has been time-shifted and sped up by about four times to create a dreamlike appearance illustrating those clouds rapidly whisking past the moon and diffusing its brightly glowing light.
The soundtrack sample is taken from Craig Armstrong's delightful contemporary reimagining of Debussy's "Clair De Lune", originally part of the Suite Bergamasque for piano.
