President Obama made a push for health care reform at a town hall meeting he hosted at the White House. He also signed a bill this week that gives the federal government greater power to regulate cigarettes and other tobacco products. First Lady Michelle Obama promoted public service this week by helping to construct a school playground in San Francisco.

just watched Obama at a Town Hall Meeting talk about the reform plan....what he says and what is written into the HR3200 is quite different.

Obama wants to create a "death panel" that would deny care to the neediest Americans. You will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. The Democratic health care bills would encourage euthanasia. The reform plans will lead to rationing, or the government determining which medical procedures a patient can have.

If I had Obama's responsibilities, I would have a cigarette in my mouth, two in my nostrils and one in each ear. I will omit refering to any other bodily oriifices. I don't smoke, but I woud definitely take up the habit while trying to fix this wounded country (thanks to the last 8 years)

I'm thinking it is a safe bet he hasn't quit smoking, or we would have heard a lot about it. Universal health care won't be universal . . . . it will be more expensive to support the bureaucracy and to keep costs down the government will *ration* care and you will get to stand in line for what your ration is. Free market is the system that produces innovations and sophisticated health care, and, yes, it is expensive, but you ain't seen nothing till you see the government run it.

Ummm-there already is a surgeon's warning mandated on each pack of smokes. It's no secret the stuff is bad for you. SO he signs a bill that has to list the ingredient--umm tobacco? and we don't know that already? There are already limitations how smokes are advertised-no more TV or magazines. So what is new about this.
