In the old days, I'd always seek out Shotts drum corps practising before competing at Cowall etc., looking for the tall white-haired Alex Duthart.
I'm glad Jim Kilpatrick took over the lead, having been Alex's protoge: I well remember Alex coming down to London, to give a drum clinic, along with Bert Barr and an 18-year old Jim. Drumming's great .... but I just wish Jim wouldn't chew gum when he's playing - looks bad!
