@hypothesis2 No the religious has just got no shame at all!!

As usual with almost every debate of this nature, the "Christian" never answers a question directly.

His last joke was classic.

@skinnerMTB Your comment adds nothing and proves nothing. We don't even know what he is eating. He began after backing away from the mic to cough, so perhaps it would be more charitable to assume he is eating minty or aromatic sweets to ease pain. Perhaps he didn't realise at this time the tumour growing in his throat. Perhaps it is better to give him the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps judging people isn't very moral, for a Christian or otherwise. But like I said, it adds nothing to this debate.

"If there are competing solidarities, then you don't know what to do." BULL. I, like everyone else, consult my intellect and my conscience (which I have inherited through humanity's evolution as a group-living species), and I decide for myself. Which solidarity, which moral worldview I select, is my responsibility and mine alone. Wilson has also made his choice, which is to defer to a thousands-years-old text that doesn't make much sense.

Great debate. Thanks for the upload. Both guys made good points and both left me with more questions. One thing I would like to point out though. Imagine how bad Wilson would get FLAMED in the comments section if he was snacking all the way through the debate...yet when Hitchens does it is cool. lol.

Obviously, Hitchens loves to debate (or argue), but I'm not convinced that he is even in search of truth. He does not even want a place of peace or tranquility? He loves conflict? umm...what? He is always asking for evidence of God. The perfectly designed elements of this universe do not point toward a designer - whatever. Where is the real evidence of macro evolution? Seriously, where are these 1/2 evolved creatures? We have complete dino skeletons & they are supposed to be way older...

wilson probbably one of the most decent christian debators ive seen in a debate, although hes utterly wrong and comes up with some hideously erroneous points, he isnt unduely rude or insulting, nor does he have a high minded air or certitude like a sean hannity or o'donohue, so props for that at least!!

Morality is just a stamp like the word wet. Water is not wet, wet is having water on you.

"Thats what your gonna get"(hell) -Wilson
Hitchens just wittily replies, Wilson just insults.
"I don't attribute my presence here, as some so arrogantly do, to a divine plan... Do I look to you like I'm the object of some divine plan?"
