I love Winona LaDuke. But her mother, Betty LaDuke, is a public supporter of Heifer International, which is one of the most destructive organizations of the land in the world. It's a multi-million-dollar for-profit con job. They send animals (many of whom die in the voyage) to impoverished parts of the world, where they are often brutalized and/or die from lack of veterinary care. Heifer International also has a covert Christian missionary purpose.

i love winona's sense of humor and direct approach to her subjects...she has a ready command of the little known facts, she offers solutions, she leaves room for opponents of her view to be wrong with dignity...she is brilliant
