Covered by Tori Amos in MONA LISA SMILE .

Thanks for the lyrics: www.hereinmyhead.com (I guess this is the best website about Tori!!)

See the pyramids along the nile
watch the sunrise on a tropic isle
just remember, darling, all the while
you belong to me

see the marketplace in old algiers
send me photographs and souvenirs
just remember when a dream appears
you belong to me

i'll be so alone without you
maybe you'll be lonesome too
and blue

fly the ocean in a silver plane
see the jungle when it's wet with rain
just remember 'til you're home again
you belong to me

i'll be so alone and without you
maybe you'll be lonesome too
and blue

fly the ocean in a silver plane
see the jungle when it's wet with rain
but remember, darling, 'til you're home again
you belong to me

  • I heard the verson of Carla Bruni, both are amazing but I love the spontaneousness of Carla more. btw, who is the 1st person singing this mater piece evryone?

  • @tranphuong12288 The original version of the song was recorded by Sue Thompson .... wikipedia docet ;-) but I prefer Tori, only because I don't like Carlabruni ;-)

  • Wow, Tori sounds so different here.

  • Right now, my professional life is, like, at a 9 but my personal life is, like, at a 2.

  • Nice to hear the current generation performing music of the 40's. Tori does a real nice job here. This arrangement sounds strikingly similar to the definitive version of "You Belong to Me" recorded in 1952 by Jo Stafford.

  • RESPOND

  • @tranphuong12288 The most famous "old" version of this song is sung by Patsy Cline

  • I don't think I have ever heard a version of this song that I didn't like. I will keep searching.

  • Oh my god. She's fantastic. So glad I stumbled upon this. Definitely gonna check out her other work.

  • @savconsult I think you're wrong critizing the comment cause the Tori Voice here sound very 40's alike Peggy Lee. The fact of the song is from the 50's is irrelevant.

  • I remember watching this movie and at the party scene, I was so shocked seeing Her performing and me: oh, #$#"#"%$...........

  • the music is very similar like the old version from Jo Stafford, but Tori's voice is very 40s :D
