Short video taken on Sunday 28 November 2010 after very heavy snowfalls the day previous. The video was taken on the long uphill stretch of road called "The rest and be thankful" which runs through some of the most beautiful and striking mountain scenery to be found in Scotland. The sound track "Just around the hill" is from the excellent album "Trilenium" by Sash.

  • You won't be disappointed Livy if you pass through in the daytime. The scenery at this location is simply awesome. There is a viewpoint and carpark at the top of the rest and be Thankful. Since it is a classic Glacier formed "U-shaped hanging valley" with a small lochan at the top you will have an unrestricted view down the glen in both directions. Take a camera with you.

  • No video ever could. I have climbed every single munro in this area including the ones around the rest, winter and summer and no video can equal the personal experience. FYI I was one of the unfortunates who was traped on the A82 loch lomond Road the day previously. Had to sit trapped in 3ft of snow for 10 hours while the "Roads Authority" dithered about and completely failed to do their duty.As they say in japan "Blurry Irriots".

  • That's beautiful. I'll be driving that way tomorrow for the first time but I don't think it'll be snowy.

  • I've travelled the road to Campbeltown for 40 years but always in the summer. First time I've seen the R&BT with snow. Thank you.

  • I'm afraid your video doesn't do justice how spectacular the 'Rest' was on that day. I say this because I drove up it the same as yourself(and the day before, had to drive to Inveraray and were one the very few not to trapped on the other side!). I tried to take a photo on my phone but they were pretty poor. I'm chuffed someone else admired as much I did!

  • Simply beautiful
