We have witnessed serious commuting problems for pedestrian and vehicles due to population and traffic increasing in the Kabul City over the past several months. Therefore, the Ministry of Interior in coordination with the municipality has decided to remove and rearrange the city's traffic barriers by decree. Accordingly, the barriers setup in different parts of the city on many streets and alleys by various organizations without justifiable security reason should be removed.
The Kabul Municipality Department, which is undertaking construction efforts to improve streets and mains roads, kindly directs those residents who have placed barriers in front of their shops to assist the municipality by removing these barriers.
The Ministry of Interior and Kabul Municipality Department also kindly direct all government organizations, foreign organizations, NGOs, private companies, and individuals to remove their barriers to assist Kabul Municipality Department and ANP members in this effort. Failure to comply will result in the barriers being removed by ANP members. Violators will be prosecuted.
The Ministry of Interior strongly supports the Municipality Department and expresses its readiness to assist.
Barrier removal began in front of the Border Police compound, which is located in the Deh Mazang area.
