Freckles Thoughts on Pregnancy

Freckles is an 8 year old mare, due to foal May 15. This was on our first warm spring day, she was relaxing in the sun. UPDATE- Freckles had a filly, Minnie, on May 14. There's video of her starting her training here

THis looks like a really nice mare why is she foaling in mud or sand and not in straw, its crazy!! should be a clean enviroment. or even in a grassy pasture.

She's not foaling, she was just out in her corral sunbathing.  She foaled in a deeply bedded straw stall 2 weeks after this was filmed.

does any one know what you would get breeding a palomino + a palomino!

You have a 50% chance of palomino, a 25% chance of chestnut, and a 25% chance of cremello (which is NOT the same as albino).

She had a healthy filly on May 14. Both are doing just fine.

@jblvrilvable Horses do lay down to nap and sunbathe. The only time you should be worried is if they are down for several hours. And no the horse isn't dead

@XxRisingVelocityxX horses can become pregnant as young as 2 1/2. if your mare has run with stallions, she's probably pregnant.
