You're right, 5lkk. I think what threw me off was the wrap up quote of "now you're on the road with everything you need for a home igate or digipeater setup". In watching it again, I still don't think he made it clear where the new Ruby code is running. Since the serial port is central to this solution, I have to think its running on the Linksys mainboard -- either in Tomato or DD-WRT.

@easternpa2 As I understand the video, and associated links. The modified router when used with a transceiver, I could have an igate or digipeater, without needing a PC running 24/7.

I appreciate the work that was put into this, but I don't get the value of the finished product. I have a highway nearby, but I travel a lot for business so leaving a device at home does little for me. It seems you're trying to maximize the benefit of embedding an APRS-aware device into a Linksys, but for what? I hoped to hear about a daemon that runs in Tomato, but no. Now it just seems like you went through all that effort just because there's a 3.3v power connector in there that's always on.
