World 6-3 is optional--it's out of the way. On the World 6 map, you can choose to take World 6-2 and then 6-4, or you can take 6-3 and go straight to 6-Tower. Me? I take all three. That's the way I play.

6-3 is a pipe dream...or rather, a pipe nightmare. Presumably, this is what is inside a Warp Pipe. Full of tiny passageways resembling a maze, they're populated by Piranha Plants of many different sorts (those Stalking Piranhas are back) and Buzzy Beetles, another enemy that's brought back here. Buzzy Beetles are veterans, appearing as far back as Super Mario Bros. They didn't get the sort of fame the Goombas, Koopas, Lakitus, and Hammer Bros. got, unfortunately. In this stage, Buzzy Beetles can appear on the ground and crawl along, or they can be on the ceiling and drop down on Mario. The difference between Buzzy Beetles and Spinies is that while Spinies are prickly and can't be jumped on (while upright), Buzzy Beetles have smooth shells and can. However, Buzzy Beetles are immune to fire and keep moving along. Both are vulnerable to ice, however.

World 6-3 has a lot of orange P-Switches, and in this context, they temporarily raise the water level. Mini Mario's adept enough in the air to not need most of them, though the last one is simply too high for anything but the Propeller Mushroom.

  • i LOVE THIS MUSIC

  • @Randomest672 They can be if they want to.

  • @Overhazard Does that mean that... all pirahna plants are mobile?

  • u r rlly good at this game

  • that was some AWESOME wall jumping!

  • this level makes me miss the blue shell from the ds version

  • My guess is that the seeds land there and they've been in these pipes their whole lives.

The platforms that go up and down must explain why they're always popping in and out of the pipes.

  • This isn't hidden. You can find it by taking the right path after finishing 6-1.

  • Very nice Man your good. is this like a hidden Level? Thare was a level like this in the D.s game i remember that. Buzzy Beetles ah the good ol time.....great......

  • this level always reminds me of that one sewer-like level in world 2 (i think) of new super mario bros. for the ds. they both have switches that raise the water level, sloping terrain, and piranha plants out the wazoo.

  • I find it fun to watch the Buzzy Beetles dropping down from the ceiling and rolling on the ground to defeat the enemies in Mario's way. I don't find it fun watching the Buzzy Beetles drop on top of Mario, though.
