Transmission keeps slipping when shifting from 2nd to 3rd I think it might be a computer problem or it might need to be flushed but it u have any idea of what is causing the problem please tell me.

As of 11/13/08 it has been fixed i changed the fluid twice and changed out the governor pressure switch and fixed the problem The trans has shifts strong no tweaking in between gears and no slipping what so ever. The Truck has now 137,000 Miles on it and is running strong

  • @clo662 nice man mine only make it to 160k before the engine blew up, but hey i beat the shit out of it and it had no no oil pressure for the last 50k miles, all i can say is there one tough suv!

  • If your trying to find a problem pussy footing and driving like grama is not the way dude. Romp the gas pedal to the floor then you'll know if the tyranny is slipping geez. i hate people that are like whats this issue an drive like thier gonna break thier car. Guess what no matter you beat the living fuxk out of the car or drive like an old woman its still gonna break!

  • @FinalRanger first off flooring it will make it will make the slipping worse and break faster and will put wear on the engine but whatever this truck is dead anyways 40k miles later!

  • Nope not a computer problem, the RH didn't use a TCM. Anyway's the 2-3 Slip can be because of the inner lip seal in the direct clutch drum most likely, or it can be the friction discs are worn which at high mileage is most likely the cause. One way or another their isn't a repair in a can for what you have.

  • @vdub2002 lol 260k here and limping at the moment...but it's an easy fix

  • drain it our 98 wrangler has had this problem one and it was fixed for about 1 1/2 years now its come back

  • 5.9L Jeep, 196.000 Miles, going like there's no end to it. Love it!

  • I hate it when people trash talk Jeeps. My ZJ is 15 years old, and it is still running strong. I take pride in my country, and in my Jeep. I may be getting 12 MPG, but I've got torque, off-roading ability, and the tendency to smoke ricers at red lights. Peace out. O||||||||O

  • @malcommerriweather
