They were asked to log their job hunt and we see them partying, playing baseball, their apartment, etc.? Humm...

They had jobs bartending, which likely earns rather good money with tips. And one of them lost her job. Humm.. why?

We see they want to work as journalists, but I don't see them willing to leave NY, online contracts, etc.

I'd feel a lot better if they documented preparing for job interviews, writing resumes, volunteering, checking the internet, talking with people, etc.

yeah seriously.If you want a real stable job today, you need to show a skill that either takes training or a portfolio, and show a passion and confidence for that line of work. That means doing something related to that field everyday already. Also going to door to door every day until you find something, at least an internship. As for journalism, It's a dieing profession, I say become a copywriter, those jobs are still springing up, internships at least.

If we get one million blogs and lose print journalism, if journalism itself disappears as a profession . . .

I'm not sure that's even a net gain.

In a sense, it's not the death of the reporter. Reporters will go on reporting whatever they find out.

It's the death of the newspaper editor. And the travel budget the newspaper editor is able to provide every week.

But that travel budget is essential for real journalism.

And, unfortunately, real journalism is essential for democracy.

It's disturbing that we're entering an age when th world couldn't be more complex and in which professional journalism could not be more important, if we want democracy to function . . .

and real journalists, rather than getting hired or paid well, are getting laid off in droves.
