Reid health care bill negatively affects jobs

Washington, D.C. U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., joined Republican leadership, the Chamber of Commerce and more than 70 business leaders from across the country today to discuss how the Reid health care bill will eliminate jobs and bury small businesses under an avalanche of new regulations.

Ive been a small businessman and Ive had that experience waking up in the middle of the night wondering how I was going to meet payroll the next day. I can identify with all of those people out there who give health care to their employees and those who wish they could give health care to their employees. I looked at the CBO report that came out yesterday that said the Reid health care bill is going to cost ten million jobs and its going to cost insurance for those people that are in the small business market. The Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee has not had a single hearing to increase jobs. There have been hearings on how to put more regulation on small businesses and big businesses. This keeps them from employing more people.

This bill is a job landslide. It will eliminate jobs and bury them under an avalanche of new regulations. Yesterday, the Department of Labor announced that they were going to do 90 additional regulations. And those will make it fairer for employees. Those small businessmen are trying to make it as fair for their employees as they can because thats the only way they can stay in business. But theyre not going to be hiring until they know whats happening, said Enzi, former small business owner, Ranking Member of the HELP Committee and the Senates only accountant.
